Our brand is called Portage and Main, named after a major intersection in Winnipeg that represents the coming together of two important things: modern and woodsy. We've been designing and making kids' clothes since 2012 and now have over 250 retailers worldwide. Our clothes are designed in Edmonton, Alberta, and made to last longer than just one season, so your kiddos can wear them from the city to the great outdoors for years to come.
We're all about creating value for parents and comfort for their kids. That's why we use low-impact fiber reactive dyes in our fabrics. Basically, this means our dyes are free from heavy metals, chemical mordants, and AZO's, and require less water, salt, and chemicals than traditional/synthetic dyes. We're proud to use fabrics that are STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®️ certified, which is a label that ensures textiles have been tested for harmful substances.
Our clothes feature fun sayings that kids and parents love. Some of our most popular ones are "kickin it preskool," "no talky during hockey," and a retro design with a droopy smiley face on the front and "have a good day" on the back.
